Hermione is not named
for the character from Harry Potter, nor is
she named for the English Actress Hermione
Gingold. She is one of Gabby's four kittens
that we took in to bottle raise. Initially,
we called them Enie, Meni, Miney, and Mo.
Hermione is the only one to retain even a
semblance of that naming. Miney = Hermione.
Simple as that. Most of the time we still
call her Miney.
Hermione is quite curious, and loves to walk
the kitchen counters. You can be sure, as
soon as water runs, she will be up
investigating the sink. Unfortunately, she
has not figured out the meaning of simple
words like "NO" or "GET DOWN". However, she
is very affectionate and still likes to be
held and cuddled. She also loves to
roughhouse with her sisters, Shotzi and
Cupcake, and will also play with the other
cats. But she is quite wary of Pepper-Ann
who gets annoyed when the last group of
kittens try to make up. Shotzi and Cupcake
will respond back, but Hermione is more
timid, and chooses to avoid confrontation.
She has the most endearing way of cooing or
trilling to herself as she plays, or to you
when she wants attention. She also loves to
"knead" whatever part of your body she is
currently standing on, with claws in full
attendance. Ouch!
